As a kid growing up in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, NY, there were two things about which Scott Katz was absolutely certain – that he wanted to be a doctor and, as soon as possible, live in southern California. Before the age of 30, he achieved both.
After graduating from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook, Katz followed his older brother and sister to Los Angeles where he attended the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic. He has practiced medicine for more than 30 years. His reputation for the meticulous nurturing of his patients and dedication to their overall health has attracted a wide range of long-term clients including Academy Award-winning actor Forest Whitaker and Rabbi Marvin Heir, founder of the Simon Wiesenthal Center and its Museum of Tolerance.
For more than a decade, Katz also treated late fitness legend Jack LaLane, internationally acclaimed radio personality Casey Kasem and Marcia Wallace, co-star of the long-running CBS hit ‘The Bob Newhart Show’.
To show support for his patients who have battled HIV and the AIDS virus, Katz, on two occasions, participated in the San Francisco-to-Los Angeles Ride to End AIDS. He has also ridden bicycles across the states of Nevada and Utah.
Scott Katz is the father of two adult daughters, the guardian of a rescue dog “Max” and an avid hiker and yoga enthusiast.
